Winter Park Embarks on Park Avenue Refresh Project |
Major Enhancements Begin to Revitalize Historic Corridor |
Winter Park is initiating a significant revitalization of its iconic Park Avenue, marking the first major update since the late 1990s.
Commencing January 20, the city will embark on the Park Avenue Refresh Project, a comprehensive effort aimed at enhancing safety, aesthetics, and infrastructure along the bustling thoroughfare.
Phase one of this multi-year endeavor focuses on the stretch between Webster and Garfield avenues.
Key improvements include the installation of new streetlights equipped with integrated smart technology, repairs to existing planter boxes, and the addition of decorative planters at crosswalks to bolster pedestrian safety.
Furthermore, the project encompasses the planting of live oaks, seasonal landscaping, and the introduction of new trash and recycling receptacles.
To minimize disruption, construction will proceed one block at a time, ensuring that sidewalks remain accessible and businesses continue operations throughout the process.
City officials anticipate completing phase one by fall, with subsequent phases extending the enhancements further along Park Avenue in the coming years.
Residents and visitors can look forward to a refreshed Park Avenue that honors its historic charm while embracing modern amenities. |
